In the extremely competitive realm of interactive entertainment, it's typical for emerging rivals to vanish as rapidly as they explode onto the stage.
But the latest Battlefield is aiming to change that.
Here comes the newest release in a established warfare game franchise often positioned as a more authentic response to the CoD series.
The title has not quite succeeded to equal its most famous competitor in aspects of revenue or user base, but there are signs the latest version could close the gap.
An early access event giving players a shot to test the release earlier this year achieved milestones, and the buzz approaching its release has been huge.
But the undertaking is nevertheless a big venture for publisher the gaming giant, which has reportedly spent huge sums of dollars making it.
We have spoken to several the makers to find out how they expect it will be profitable.
Creation Group and Studio Collaboration
Several teams are working on the title under the unified development banner.
Among them are long-time creator the Swedish studio, based in Europe, California's Motive team and the Canadian studio in Canada.
The fourth, Criterion, is situated in England.
A key leader is the general manager of the both EU-based teams, and shares with our team that, in respect of what it's delivering users, "Battlefield 6 is probably unbeatable."
Learning From Past Errors
This title arrives after the back of the advanced Battlefield 2042, released four years ago to a unfavorable reception it found it hard to overcome.
"It's likely that we couldn't build and design the latest entry lacking the insights we acquired in Battlefield 2042," Rebecka shares with our team.
One of those takeaways was to engage fans involved early, and the team initiated exclusive fan playtests in recent months.
Their "feedback was explosively positive," says the manager.
Another missing component from Battlefield 2042 was a solo experience, which has been restored for this release.
The Guildford team creative lead Fas Salim is the individual responsible for "making sure those stages are as entertaining and engaging as can be for the gamers."
Despite claims that the scale of the project had put a strain on the various studios collaborating across continents to build the title, Fas is positive about the work.
"Working with varied backgrounds, distinct heritages, it's a really fascinating setting to be engaged with every day," he says.
"The complete approach has been an innovation but something very thrilling because we are collaborating with individuals from internationally."
Concerning the expectation on the crew, the director comments: "We experience demand but at the same time it's exciting.
"We're dealing with a major project. It's likely the largest that most of us have before worked on."
New Developer Adds New Perspective
That's definitely true of no less than an individual team member, lighting artist Vlad Kokhan.
This young professional makes the atmospheric effects that define the atmosphere, style, and direction of the story mode.
Vlad completed an internship at Criterion preceding getting a role at the company, and now works on a part-time basis while concluding his digital arts degree at Bournemouth University.
He says he's a long-standing fan of the Battlefield series, and remembers enjoying the fourth instalment of the line at a buddy's place when he was in his youth.
Being on it at present, as his debut career position, "doesn't feel tangible."
"It's very crazy seeing the promotion everywhere," he shares.
"To know that I have added my own thing into the project is truly unbelievable."
