Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to enhance its aerial protection systems. The first three producers have started production, with 11 more preparing to establish assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs utilize a domestically developed system called “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. The system has been tested in combat and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” officials stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of producing as many as 1,000 interceptors daily.

Latest Attack on the Capital Characterized as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president characterized Russia’s latest attack against Ukraine as “intentional, premeditated and wicked” after six individuals were killed and many others wounded in a series of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv. Alert systems sounded in Kyiv shortly after midnight this past Friday, with Shahed drones quickly heard overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukrainian air defences.

The president reported the country was targeted by hundreds of UAVs and 18 missiles. Those killed were at home in an apartment building on Kyiv’s left bank during the strike. Numerous of other buildings were damaged, including the Azerbaijani embassy.

International Protest After Diplomatic Compound Destruction

Azerbaijan said it delivered a formal objection to the Russian ambassador this past Friday after the embassy damage. Ukrainian Strikes Target Russian Oil Facilities

Moscow's maritime terminal of Novorossiysk temporarily suspended oil exports this past Friday – equivalent to 2% of global supply – following a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Ukraine’s general staff said its military had fired Neptune cruise missiles and used multiple kinds of attack UAVs in the assault against Novorossiysk “as part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the invading force.”

Ukrainian forces separately targeted an oil refinery in Russia’s Saratov region and an energy depot in nearby Engels overnight.

Russia’s second-largest oil producer Lukoil said on Friday it has been in talks with potential buyers concerning its foreign assets following recent sanctions from Western nations and the collapse of a deal with the Gunvor trading house. “Final arrangements are to be disclosed once conclusive negotiations have been reached and required authorizations are secured,” Lukoil stated.

Ukrainian President Plans Visit to Spanish Capital

Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the Spanish capital, the Spanish capital, next Tuesday to meet with parliament members a day after his trip to France, Spanish parliamentary officials announced. Zelenskyy will convene with representatives from both chambers of parliament during his visit, an official announcement confirmed.
